Who We Are
We are a passionate group of young individuals, all proud graduates of the Bharathi Tamil Academy (BTA). As high school and college students from the Washington area, we share a deep connection through our BTA education. Our mission is to give back to the Academy by volunteering our time and skills while developing as leaders, mentors, and ambassadors. Whether through teaching, organizing events, or taking on leadership roles, each of us contributes to the growth and success of the BTA community.
What We Do
With a shared passion for the Tamil language and culture, we align our efforts with the needs of the Academy. Our roles include teaching Tamil classes, designing creative content for school events, coordinating various activities, and leading organizational initiatives. Our diverse talents enable us to make meaningful contributions, whether in education, technology, or community engagement. Together, we make a lasting impact.
Teaching Assistants
Most of us in the Youth Committee also volunteer as Teaching Assistants in BTA. We assist adult teachers in class but also strive to make learning Tamil more fun and engaging. Additionally the Teaching Assistants team gathers ideas to improve how Tamil classes are conducted. We collaborate with other teams to bring fresh perspectives to both teachers and students, enhancing the learning & teaching experience for all.

Technology
The Technology team focuses on maintaining and enhancing the BTA website, including adding Youth Committee updates and photos. We work on student management applications and SharePoint, providing opportunities to develop technical skills while making a positive impact.
Creative Enrichment
Creative Enrichment is responsible for enhancing Tamil engagement across all age groups. We design activities, both in-class and virtual, to foster a love for the Tamil language and culture. Our goal is to inspire students and encourage participation in various school initiatives.
Public Relations
The PR team manages BTA’s social media presence across platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook. We work on creating content ideas, publishing updates, and building engagement with the broader community.
